US changes strategy for better geoeconomics

After forever war concept ending in a miserable failure, Trump comes with a new strategy document identifying core interest of America in fostering balanced security interest where her geoeconomics status is given higher priority than geopolitical or geostrategy segments. Details follow:

Recently published US National Security Strategy (NSS) outlines the course of action America would follow in the coming years. There are six important takeaways:

1. America First

2. Fortify American continent

3. Befriend Russia

4. Elevate China as peer competitor

5. Move out of Atlantics

6. Ignore the rest of the world

Even though this is called security strategy it is less on the count of military and political side and more on pure economics survival.

America first policy was a battle cry during Trump 1. 0 during 2016 – 2020 he laid the foundation for making America great again but lacked the power to push through needed reforms.  Today he has a better control of this with a glaring example of letting down Ukraine to the wolves.

By fortifying American continent he gives a big thrust to Monroe Doctrine where shores of both North & South America rest under the control of USA barring other navies navigating therein. Recently, Russian navy entering into Venezuela water unnerved him. If he is to go ahead with Monroe Doctrine he has to scale back from hegemony in international waters.

Since the end of WWII Soviet Union was considered enemy number one. Although Cold War succeeded in dissolving the Iron Curtain, US continued to treat rump Russian Federation as hostile partner, resulting in the slow & steady depreciation of US geoeconomics. Therefore, Trump sent feelers to Putin and both are working on improving relations and for the prospects of investing in Russian economy for mutual benefit.

But America always need an enemy to survive. Since Russia does no longer poses a threat a new enemy has to be found. China fills the slot, not in military side but mainly in the international economics as she has emerged as largest trading nation surpassing US. Hence locking horns with China is the best option. So the battle for Geoeconomics clout has begun with the yellow peril

Atlantics was needed very badly during the Cold War and the Unipolar World that emerged after the fall of Berlin Wall. Europe was found as a useful idiot primarily and the market for selling US weapons & technology. Once the British Isles left EU, Atlantics went with it. Today Europe can be considered at best as a vassal and at worst role reversal from major buyer of US Manufactured goods to significant seller of machinery & industrial products exported to America.

Final nail in the coffin is to slowly withdraw from trouble spots globally which drained US treasury and lives for the last 80 years since the end of WWII. Even though this is not evident to the naked eye dumping India from the Indo-Pacific security architecture is the proof of the pudding.

In conclusion, I believe with utmost certainty that America being caught between a rock and a hard place would extricate from the role of global gendarme to fight a new proxy war with China in planning & executing geoeconomics manoeuvres!

Cheers!
